Illustrator & Designer・Visual Storytelling Across Art & Science

About Sarah Jo

Sarah Jo Renelt is a multidisciplinary designer and visual communicator with a BFA in Communication Design from The New York City College of Technology, CUNY (Magna Cum Laude). She works across illustration, information design, and spatial storytelling, translating extensive research and complex ideas into engaging visuals.

Her practice spans campaign work, exhibition and immersive design, surface and pattern design, and scientific and educational illustration. She has led and contributed to projects across health communication, education, and experiential branding, including art direction and lead illustration for the “Strength Within” campaign with Omnicom Health Group, The Health of Advertising Brand Challenge, and design work with Triangle Arts NYC.

Her freelance and independent work includes branding, environmental graphics, and illustration for clients such as Public School 9, White Bird Productions, SHIPWRECKED, and Team New York Aquatics. She also served as President of the Ink Club, where she lead creative programming and community-engaging initiatives in illustration and design.

Alongside her design work, she has experience in teaching and leadership as a Red Cross–certified swimming instructor, where she developed lesson plans and taught youth water safety, skill development, and independence.

She is currently seeking full-time opportunities in visual communication and design.
